Former United Nations Secretary-General and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Kofi Annan has kicked the bucket, the Kofi Annan Foundation said on Saturday.

Annan, of Ghanaian nationality, kicked the bucket in clinic in Bern, Switzerland, in the early long periods of Saturday, two close partners of Annan said.

His establishment declared his passing in a tweet on Saturday, saying that he kicked the bucket after a short unspecified disease.

He was the primary dark African to take up the part of UN's secretary general. He served two terms from 1997 to 2006.
